We all have times in our lives that we call "God moments". It is a moment in time where God is doing a special thing and we stand back and watch. Usually, it is after a season of walking in obedience.
God tells us to do something, and we act in obedience even if it is difficult or uncomfortable.
I am reminded of a scripture, "Unless a seed falls to the ground, it can not produce more fruit." Just like the seed, we must die to self. It may be painful and uncomfortable, but it is necessary to see the end result.
I am in a "God moment" right now. I am watching God do something amazing in my life and other believers around me.
He is positioning us for battle, he is lining us up in formation. Just like the military line up, and march forward.
I have watched new recruits, as well as seasoned soldiers be able to get into their places in a moments notice. They are not scrambling around to figure out where they belong, they know how to get in position and wait for their next order.
In fact, I remember watching a plane land that had just returned from Iraq. We were awaiting the soldiers to exit from the plane, and we knew who we were looking for.
Each family watched as they stepped out of the plane. Each of us looking for our loved one. It was so strange, as they came out they all looked the same. Maybe a few skin color differences, but that was it. You could not point out who you knew from a distance.
They immediately moved into formation, thousands of soldiers standing in their place. Within a few minutes they were given the order to go greet their families, and all you could see was a flood of camouflaged bodies moving toward us.
It was breath taking, almost overwhelming! When they came within a few feet you could see their faces. I searched the crowd to find my son, and I could hear voices all around me. Some were yelling "Daddy".
In the midst of the crowd there were no dry eyes.
When I saw my son moving toward us, it was as if time stood still.
I tell this story because as believers in Christ, we are in an army! We must position ourselves with God, and be listening for His command to move forward into battle.
If we are accustom to following his commands we will be useful to His service. If not, we are walking in disobedience and will experience the outcome of our actions.
In the end, I want to hear;
You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race. Therefore, there is a crown of righteousness set before you. -Selah
So, I think it's time to start marching!!!
